5 mistakes you must avoid in Dynamics 1 continuous assessments

I have seen many unnecessary, simple, careless, casual and completely avoidable mistakes in EG260 (Dynamics 1, Swansea University) continuous assessments over the past years. Here I point out five major mistakes you must avoid. Using other’s parameter values: You need to find the ROW that corresponds to your student number and use only the parameters given in that ROW. This can de done by using the search-box in EXCEL (usually in the top right corner). Do NOT attempt to use parameter values for other student numbers. The column heading in the EXCEL file indicates the designation of each parameter. Using parameter values fro other student will give you zero mark, even if the procedure is correct! Putting correct results in wrong boxes: you need to put correct results into correct boxes in the MyAnswers.xls file. Correct results into wrong boxes give no mark. Check and check again before uploading. Changing the format of the xls file to be uploaded: Download the empt

I am writing from Genoa, Italy. I came here two present two papers ICNPAA 2008 conference (Mathematical Problems in Engineering, Aerospace and Sciences, Wednesday June 25- Friday June 27). The slides of my two presenttions can be downloaded from here and here . Genoa is positively warm, Mediterranean, and beautiful. The conference was good and I met few good researchers here. I am staying in Rex Hotel and will go back home tomorrow. I hope my Ryanair flight would be smooth.
I went to Cambridge again this week from Monday (16/06/08) to Wednesday (18/06/08). My Cambridge email id is working now ( sa225@cam.ac.uk ) . Our collaborative work has advanced and I got something to work on during the summer. The driving to Cambridge was eventful as the front left tyre of my car busted in the motorway M4 just before Bristol. I had to change three tyres in Cambridge. I also went to house of an old friend for a dinner.
I was in Cambridge from Monday (09/06/08) to Wednesday (11/06/08) as a part of my official visitor appointment at the Engineering Department till the end of 2008. I went to Cambridge after a long time (last time I was in Cambridge was in January 2005). It was nice to go back and meet few old friends. I am also a visiting Fellow in a Cambridge college. The support and resources provided by the college is absolutely crucial, especially as a visitor. The collaborations look promising and I hope we can do some good research work during my visit.
I was in the Manchester Business School (MBS) for a business meeting. Went yesterday (03/06/08) by train and came back today (04/06/08). Revised the web-pages in the train. Publications and research pages are finally up-to-date. Abstract pages now have BibTeX entries for easy citation in LaTeX (manually edited more than 100 .html files!).
I went to Bristol on Monday (2nd June 08) for a meeting at the University. It was an useful meeting. I also met few old friends and had an wonderful lunch at the Hawthorns with some old colleagues.
I have finished a major upgrade of my web site over the weekend. It no longer uses frames now. All pages have been revised .
